Toei Kyoto Studio Park - Ninja & Samurai Experience

Toei Kyoto Studio Park - Ninja & Samurai Experience

Updated

Explore A Real Open Production Set

The Toei Kyoto Studio Park combines the best of multiple worlds, creating one of the most unique theme parks you will experience. Toei, first and foremost being a production company, is known for producing well known anime feature films but also period pieces in the form of movies as well as dramas. The theme park is home to legitimate movie sets, still used today, for these period pieces. As such, the buildings set up resemble those of old Japan, giving visitors a feel of what life looked like in the olden days. Because of this, the park also rents out kimonos for visitors to wear around as they experience what life was like in pre-industrial Japan. Visitors may also have a chance to spectate film shoots if there are any scheduled and an audience is permitted as the sets are open to the public.

Adding and experiencing Ninja & Samurai is the perfect addition to our Highlights of Japan, Anime Japan Tours or any other tous. Please ask our agent for more details.

Evangelion Meets Pre-Industrial Japan (Limited Edition)

Evangelion Meets Pre-Industrial Japan (Limited Edition)

The past meets the present as the Toei Kyoto Studio Park unveils a special collaboration with the iconic Neon Genesis Evangelion anime. The collaboration brings the torso of a life-sized Evangelion statue to the park grounds, specifically the Eva Unit-01, with its palm open for visitors to stand on for a spectacular photo opportunity for any Evangelion fan. The 15 meter (49.2 feet) tall statue sits in a pool of blood-red LCL, a detail many fans are sure to appreciate. Visitors can even take a seat in the Unit-01’s entry plug, the cockpit from which the mecha is controlled. Measure your synchronization rate and see if you are meant to be a mecha pilot!

Fans can also pick up exclusive merchandise to commemorate their visit to this collab. You can find your favorite characters donning kimonos, an elegant makeover keeping in line with the park’s traditional theme. The limited time collaboration will have pins, acrylic stand up figures, and illustrations for visitors to purchase.

Ninja, Samurai, and Informative Attractions and Exhibits

Ninja, Samurai, and Informative Attractions and Exhibits

While the theme park is most well-known for its public movie sets, numerous activities and shows are set up for visitors of all ages to enjoy. Play the part of a ninja as you learn how to throw ninja stars, make your way through the Ninja Mystery House as well as the Ninja Fort, and climb up the Ninja Wall. Or if becoming a samurai is more your speed, participate in the Beginner Sword Class and Sword Fighting Lesson to start your samurai journey. For a more traditionally informative experience, a number of exhibits are located around the park showcasing not only Toei’s history in Japan’s movie industry but other aspects such as iconic period pieces and cultural icons.
